Jessica Ho is a New York-based multidisciplinary Movement Artist. Born and raised in Malaysia, Jessica's dance training developed in an eclectic arts scene. She went on to graduate summa cum laude with a BFA in Dance at Texas Christian University (TCU) under the prestigious Nordan Fine Arts Scholarship.
Jessica started movement training in Ballet as a child and has won numerous top placing awards at Malaysia’s national level Classical Ballet Competition including scholarships to perform internationally. She then pursued a Diploma in Dance at the National Arts Academy (Malaysia), training extensively in Asian traditional dance forms—Chinese, Malay, and Indian Bharata Natyam—as well as Western contemporary dance and fusions borne out of these combinations. She became the first Chinese in the history of Asia's Mak Yong genre (a UNESCO world heritage dance-drama) to hold the lead role known as the "Pak Yung".
As a multi-disciplinary mover, Jessica works with multiple genres of dance--most notably Contemporary dance, Performance Art, Salsa, Adage, and traditional Eastern dance forms.
Jessica is currently the Principal Dancer for Funk Buddha Productions and BAILA Society. She has worked with Robin Becker Dance's Into Sunlight--touring with them across Vietnam as their Core Soloist in 2015. Other performance experience include collaborations/projects with Susan Douglas Roberts (Wild Goose Chase Dance), KT Niehoff (Lingo Dance), Christian von Howard (Von Howard Project), Loretta Livingston (Livingston Dance), Jane Weiner (Hopestone), Jenny Mendez (Pilobolus), and Yunyu Wang. Jessica has toured globally to England, Australia, Indonesia, China, as well as locally within America and Malaysia. Jessica is currently expanding her dance repertoire into the realm of Aerial Silks and Adage.
In the field of Dance Production, Jessica works for the University of the Arts in Philadelphia as the Production Team for the Dance Department's bi-annual Concert Dance Series. She has also been the Assistant Stage Manager for Keigwin and Company, the Von Howard Project, and Robin Becker Dance. Jessica worked with over 40 dance companies in various production positions through the American Dance Festival in 2012 and 2013 under the supervision of David Ferri. Other Production experience include roles as Lighting Designer for Texas Dance Improvisation Festival 2012 and Technical Facilitator for TCU’s dance work presented at ACDFA.
